I can attend Autocad training classes at a local technical school. Are these classes really likely to help me to learn Intellicad? I have not seen any Intellicad classes offered locally.

Probably... as long as you are flexible enough to overlook the same commands probably being in different places and small differences in entity selection etc. I guess many of us spent years on Autocad before Icad came along and did not find the switch hard at all. Anyway it's probably as close as you will get to Icad tuition, for me it's a wonder Acad is still around let alone more popular.
