This information is relative to the posting "Fonts". As stated in Fonts posting, using CMS Icad 2001 PE latest version, when trying to change fonts the only fonts listed in the styles dialog box are those that are loaded with Icad even though I copied more fonts into the fonts folder of Icad.

If a drawing is opened containing a font that is not "standard" to Icad, the desired font is in Icad font folder, the styles will list the font. However, if new text is placed or changes to the text are made in the drawing using this "unrecognized" font Icad crashes. The only way to avoid this is to change the font in styles dialog box to one that is included as a standard font when Icad is loaded.

I have not verified this with all drawings. Can someone else duplicate this crash scenario??

The drawings that crash when changing text, etc. in drawings with non-standard Icad fonts appear to be ones that had previously crashed during an Icad session at one time or the other.

Dimensions of previous releases are one source of the problems. I have wblocked the files out by windowing the drawing entities I want but the troubled dwgs are still a problem (not quite as bad).

I did have access to ACAD for a time and used drawing recover on them, however, this did not cure the problem.

I even saved them as a dxf file but this did not work either.

Any other suggestions on how to fix the "bad" drawing files????

Is there any utility for Icad that will scan the file and "straghten" out problems in the files??? This would be very handy because when Icad crashes it can render the file beyond repair sometimes.

I don't get any crashes with Acad .shx Fonts in the main Icad directory as opposed to the Icad Fonts directory.
