I have been working on some drawings and I need to put some hatch in. My computer runs slower after I do. Is this common or am I just trying to hatch to much? Any pointers would be great.

Place your hatching on a separate layer and keep it turned off until you are ready to print.

That was a excellent tip from Lee. Some people like their drawings full of hacthes, specially some architects. Other thing that slow down zooming and panning is text.

So, if you have a drawing with so much text, like architectural or structural details, you can use the qtext command, set it on or off. It turns text into a simple rectangle, and the regeneration runs a lot faster. If you need to know or edit a text, just use the ddedit command or the properties icon, and select the text, you'll see the content.

Remember that when you issue the qtext command, you have to regen in order to see it working.
