Embedded .xls worksheet ?

I'm trying to figure out how to use an embedded .xls worksheet object in a drawing. Any suggestions as to how to refer to the embedded object from VBA?
I can start a sperate instance of Excel, create a blank sheet and work with it from VBA without problems. I'm just not sure how to get started with one that is embedded.
