This is a tough one, I have an entity that I need to shorten 86%, using the modify>edit length, and it works on a simple line, but I can't shorten my entity which comprises several lines, it dawned on me that icad doesn't know length, from width, any ideas?

tspco,

Use the "Scale" command.

Select the lines and select the base point.

For the factor use .14 which is equal to 1-86 or a reduction of 86%

I found out another way I got an email from a gentleman in Europe that suggested, saving the entity as a block, then when inserting the block adjust the X or Y scale as needed. Where the X defaults to 1.000 I simply changed it to .86== and inserted the block and then measured the angled entity in the horizontal axis, and it came to within .003" close enough for who I work for!
