I have a drawing created in ACAD 2005 saved as 2000 file that has a recurring problem. Several of the lines on this drawing do not appear when the drawing is opened in ICAD (5.1.5). These lines can be pick by using a command with the crossing window. For example if I select erase/crossing and then cancel the command the lines will appear. However if I then zoom out the lines disappear again.

If the lines are erased and then redrawn when the file is closed and reopend the lines are present.

I've had that, along with other problems with Acad files. Also some detail appearing where it obviously wasn't drawn. Can't offer much by way of a cure, maybe try cut & paste into a new file or open and save it first in Turbocad.

Are you using a white background? I have noticed a few files that seem to have an issue with this. There is also another post about this in the forum.

Also, I would only use TurboCAD as a last resort. I have had trouble with files run through TUrboCAD. Of course they were trouble files to begin so...

No typically our drawings use a black bacbground. CAn you point me to the other post as I have looked and can't find it.

This is frustrating. I have corrected a drawing, saved it and reopened it only to discover more and different items missing from the drawing. Now circles are missings, custom symbols and lines!

This only affects drawings that were originally created with AutoCAD but unfortunately that is nearly 100% of the drawings that are emailed to our office. With our line of work this situation is intolerable.

You can try using this command : sortents
and key in 0 value

Thanks that has done the trick. I now have enough confidence to use and recommend this product.

I never actually had a use for Sortents, then again perhaps I had & didn't know it. Do you know what it actually does or how it apparently makes entities appear/disappear.

This setting actually set the way you select your object you want to pick. You have two object overlapping each other, you want to select the top object so you enter value 96. But somehow Intellicad place this object behind when sortents value is not 0. You can also bring this dissappearing objects by using this command: draw order and pick any objects to bring the dissappearing object to Front

I tried the sortents command and this did not resolve the problem. I just drew up an elevation with different window walls saved as different blocks. I reopened the drawing to find that none of the blocks are showing up. If i re-insert them they do no show up, and some of the blocks which I created are not appearing on the list of blocks. Very strange, very buggy. The file was previously an AutoCAD 2000 file.

Are you using a white back ground?

I prefer the light colored background. When I first set things up, I selcted a "shade of grey" white rather than a straight white (color 7) background. The white lines all disappeared when I drew them. Once I changes to white #7, the white lines appeared black.
