I am using CMS IntelliCAD 4 PE . I am able to view a drawing done in AutoCAD 2000 LT. An error message pops up saying "Error-buffer overrun This file may an Autocad R14 Beta Format file" whenever i try to open a drawing in IntelliCAD Can anyone help me here? Thanks.

We've had a similar problem. When we try to open Acad 2004+ files with Intellicad 4, we get that same error message. They open fine in Icad 5.1, but not in V4. Try downloading Icad 5 trial and see if that opens it.

I have just noticed this post. I have the same problem opening ACAD files containing ARX components. Autodesk R13 and above use ARX. Intellicad 4 & 5 do not support ARX and get very confused when ARX is present in a file. The workaround is to convert the file to Autocad 12 or lower when Autocad will destroy the ARX components.
What I did was to save in Icad as Acad 12 file, open in Acad 14 and save as Acad 12 file when the ARX was destroyed. You cannot do this from within Intellicad as it does not see the ARX components and can't destroy them.
Thanks to Melodie Triche of etoolbox for suggesting this workaround.
