Opening .dwg files

Operating in Win98SE.
Intellicad will not open .dwg files created in AutoCAD.
Files appear to start loading and then an illegal operation notification is generated with the following details:-
"ICAD caused an invalid page fault in
module MSVCRT.DLL at 015f:780161f9 etc."
Files preview ok.
.dxf files are not affected and open without problem.
Any ideas on how to overcome the problem and open files?

You should provide some more info, such as what Autocad file version, what type of files etc. I open Autocad files all the time so obviously it is not a generic problem. Also check out the previous thread about msvcrt.dll crash.

Are you still having problems opening drawings? you can reply to me directly if you want to. I can send some stuff that we have marked up from an engineer that started in autocad and was modified in Intellicad. This would allow you to look at a sample and determine what may be the probem

I,ve tried the same after that my Intellicad 4 LT crashed by opening dwg.files made in summer 2003.Newer dwg .files that I've made recently are no problem .I.m getting two messages that here is something wrong with MSVCRT.DLL and MFC42.DLL. I.ve tried to reinstall Intellicad 4 LT and I,ve copied newer msvcrt.dll and mfc42.dll files.
