Hi Guys
I think I'll be happy with Artisan for Intellicad for now.
It's pretty good once you get used to it...apart form the crashes that is.
Hope you had a good time at Brands. We have an equivalent series here to.

Hi Guys,

Had a great time at Brands, though ue to delays in the timetable (red flags etc) t was almost dark when we got back to the car. Clost to 23:00 when we got home.

Just curious, how do I get Artisan working in Icad? (idiots guide pls :) )
I have found the existing rendering to be adequate for my use, but would like to have a try with Artisan

LuxRender is the same as Maxwell Renderer but free and open source! It's the best Renderer.

Hi sin8458
You have to install Artisan for ITC (Artisan for intellicad) first.
This instals as a sort of plug in.
Then, in CMSIntellicad right click over a toolbar and go to 'toolbars' option
and tick Arisan toolbar. This should appear as toolbar and can be docked where ever.
Open a 3D model and make sure it has all the features as layers which facilitates
materials allocation in Artisan.
Open artisan and have fun exploring. To change materials first allocate a random one from the
menu by dragging and dropping.
Right clicking over the same feature of the drawing (walls etc) to get options to change to an
image you can create as a material (jpg etc). Scale up the images using the lighting menu at the bottom of the page.
As with all such software you'll have to explore and practice.
Good Rendering

Artisan is a biaised renderer, not realistic renderer as LuxCore or Maxwell Render.
Even is Blender you have a better and realistic render with Cycle. And free!

Patrick,

How do you move your models from Intellicad to Blender/Luxcore??

Hi Kam
Blender does not support .DWG files so you have to export to .OBJ or.STL (or the like) file to import to Blender.
Norb
Thks Norb, absolutely....best is .obj
But if you change something in IntelliCAD, you must
1 - import a second time...into your first blend but objects will be overwrite and you risk losing your settings.
2- import a second time...in a new blend file and import your first setups from your first blend .
Sync don't exist as in IntelliCAD/Artisan. the best would be to code an exporter/sync from IntelliCAD to Blender or better to Cycles Render Engine.

WE COULD DEMAND THIS TO CMS TEAM FOR CHRISMAS ??? Cycles Render Engine is free ! https://www.cycles-renderer.org/
SOURCE : https://projects.blender.org/blender/cycles

MAXON CInema4D already has an exporter to Cycles Engine because Cycles can be used alone now. This will easy to create an IntelliCAD exporter to Cycl:es Engine. https://insydium.ltd/products/cycles-4d/
AUTODESK Maya has an exporter : CyclesForMaya https://github.com/rjmercier1/CyclesForMaya
AUTODESK 3DS MAX has his exporter : CyclesforMax https://cyclesformax.net/
FOUNDRY Modo has his exporter to Cycles: Cycles4Modo https://www.cgchannel.com/2023/05/cycle ... g-to-modo/

Hi Patrick
It would seem that you are a Blender advocate lost on an Intellicad forum.
For the past couple of days I re visited Blender to give it another chance.
I've reached the conclusion that Blender is so nonsensical and unintuitive
that I fear it must have been written by aliens and translated into earthling
by someone not fluent in either language or indeed logic.
Is it any wonder that someone has re written Blender (Blender for artists) but alas unsuccessfully.
We are all (I'm sure) used to unstable or hard to learn CAD software but this is on another level.
I think the only thing Blender has going for it is that it's free.
For now Artisan (also free) is a perfect solution for Intellicad users who need a good render solution.

It's tour opinion, not mine....
I translated the French UI of IntelliCAD and all Help files. Artisan is not serious for render. I'm not lost here
