Anyone found a way to specify the location/position of a section plane relative to 0,0,0?
eg, how to set the height of a plan view section plane (0 , 0 , 2750).
I've searched the 'setvars' but nothing found.

#2Morniong Steve,
I think it's in the Main menu > Format > height of the layer
In french Altitude is better as Height

#3Hi Pat,
Thanks, but that is NOT it.
I did try, but it has no impact on the sction plane height.

Re: Section Plane location?
#4Ha yes absolutely I hadn't tested it....
Very difficult to move the section plane precisely.....

Re: Section Plane location?
#5Hi Steven,
Not sure what you mean about the "Section Plane", but after setting the ELEVATION as Patrick suggested, the default elevation of the new polyline will be on this elevation, the same as the Plane (0, 0, elevation).

Re: Section Plane location?
#6Hi Quan,
on the View toolbar is a new (version 11)tool called Section Plane.
This allows the user to create a rectangular section plane, which when moved 'sections' through 3D objects/solids.
Very usefull, but it can only be placed 'by hand', where I would like to specify say the height at which the section plane is active.

Re: Section Plane location?
#7Steve it's easy You can just change the origin of the UCS with the height you want and the top default view will be on the height you choose!
The section plane is usefull but you can't choose the height precisely and section live too.... To use a precise height I place a line in front view at the height I want. after that you can always in front view place/move this horizontal section plan at the height easily by spanning it on the line.

Re: Section Plane location?
#8Hi Pat,
What you suggest is similar to how I use section plane, but I use another program that has a similar feature and there I can specify the height/Xaxis/Yaxis ocation.
I found that soo usefull I was hoping to do the same in Icad, even create a dialog/tool for specifying the location.
