Re: Section Plane location?

Hi Quan,

on the View toolbar is a new (version 11)tool called Section Plane.
This allows the user to create a rectangular section plane, which when moved 'sections' through 3D objects/solids.
Very usefull, but it can only be placed 'by hand', where I would like to specify say the height at which the section plane is active.

Steve it's easy You can just change the origin of the UCS with the height you want and the top default view will be on the height you choose!

The section plane is usefull but you can't choose the height precisely and section live too.... To use a precise height I place a line in front view at the height I want. after that you can always in front view place/move this horizontal section plan at the height easily by spanning it on the line.

Hi Pat,

What you suggest is similar to how I use section plane, but I use another program that has a similar feature and there I can specify the height/Xaxis/Yaxis ocation.
I found that soo usefull I was hoping to do the same in Icad, even create a dialog/tool for specifying the location.
