I think, this is a very interesting way to keep the print settings. I have a question to the reply of avaernes: You recomend not to use the registers for toolbar os menu settings. Why this? As far as I know, the registers are the only way to copy toolbar setting from one computer to another, without beeing restricted to the possibilities os MNS files. Whats the problem?
