I have a .tif image of a topographic map which I have loaded by clicking on image / attach image. I'm using IntelliCAD 6.4

I now wish to do a drawing over the top of this image showing proposed pipeline, pump stations and reservoirs etc. If I try to draw these lines using the usual techniques, they do appear but as soon as I click enter to confirm them, they disappear and nothing is visible, although they may be behind the topographic image, but they are not displayed.

How do I draw on a .tif image. I have done it before on earlier versons of IntelliCAD v4

From the Image Help:

Use Transparency Choose whether entities located under the image are visible (for images that support alpha transparency, that is, images that have at least one color that can be viewed as a transparent color).

Initially, I had tried clicking on 'Image / image Manager' and then ticked the box labelled 'Use transperancy'. I presume that is all that has to done.

In any case, it made absoluetly no difference.

I have ver6.4 and all lines show when I overdraw a tiff file.

It looks like some other setting.

Send me a status display so I can compare settings.

I just checked your status against mine and the settings are identical.

If you can email me a drawing with a tiff file in it to [email removed] to reduce spam

You are right.

Before drawing the line, i created a new layer with a different colour and drew the line in that new layer.

Apparently, drawing in the same layer as the .TIF image will not show the line transarenty through the image. The line must be drawn in a different layer with a different colour.

Everything now OK
