Screen proportions - vertical to horizontal

I have just come across a problem I do not think I have experienced before.
I have just reinstalled ICAD 6.2 after having purchased a new computer and I now find that a square drawn on the screen appears as a rectangle, noticeably higher than wide. I am not able to check with my old computer as it just crashed and is finished, however I don't recall I noticed this effect until now.
If you draw an inclined line and then draw a second line perpendicular to it, the second line does not appear as perpendicular and is noticeably inclined, although a printout to paper is drawn as it should.
Can this effect be corrected.
