I don't know how Many of you guys have the PE version of Intellicad. My question is to all of you that own it. Why should I upgrade to the PE version ? I can use the free version for ever. What advantages would I get if I upgrade ? I many a decision on you guys advice so please help me out here.

If the free version suits you then don't buy the PE edition.

As long as you don't distress or ponder when the free version no longer exists and the PE costs the same as AutoCAD - when choices are discretionary, it is difficult to justify long term strategic decisions – IntelliCAD is a long term strategic commitment to force AutoCAD to relinquish its strangle hold on the industry.

Your question should be – shall I pay now or pay more later?

The choice is discretionary and you affect the outcome.

Well, if you buy the PE version, you'll get the rendering module, the image enabling commands and the VBA. The image enabling is very useful because it lets you include pictures in your drawings.

Well, but all depends in the kind of work you're doing. If your work is exclusively 2d drawings, you can rely on LT version, is about half the price of the PE.

The advantage of buying the software is that you can get a year of free upgrades, and better prices for upgrades after that year.

As you're learning to use it, you might keep the free version, then, as you start working, you can move to a commercial version, LT or PE.

I was wishing for a better response tell me more of the Pro and Benefits of the PE and LT versions. You guys who responded made some good points but since there was only 2 responses it is hard to make a decision. Thanks to all that reply.

Have you upgraded to the PE version ?

If the Undo bug is fixed I am going to do it. The raster stuff is something I cannot resist. I also am enticed by the promise of more LISP routines.
