Well, if you buy the PE version, you'll get the rendering module, the image enabling commands and the VBA. The image enabling is very useful because it lets you include pictures in your drawings.
Well, but all depends in the kind of work you're doing. If your work is exclusively 2d drawings, you can rely on LT version, is about half the price of the PE.
The advantage of buying the software is that you can get a year of free upgrades, and better prices for upgrades after that year.
As you're learning to use it, you might keep the free version, then, as you start working, you can move to a commercial version, LT or PE.
