I've just started a CAD class and would like to know if Intellicad will run on a Mac, or in general, if there is a good way/program to use CAD files on both platforms? My school uses PC's, but I have a Mac, and I don't know how I can do homework on my Mac and then use the drawings at school on PC's.

IntelliCAD only runs on Windows. There are few CAD packages that have versions for both platforms and can share files, like ArchiCAD or Vector Works, but you have to be ready to spend $500 or more.
Also, your school might have a CAD program compatible with DFX files, in order to share files, but usually, for parametric elements and entities, the capabilities might get lost.
I run IntelliCAD in a Pentium 100 with 40Mb RAM, and it does it pretty good with small to medium architectural plans and stuff. So maybe you could get acces to a machine like this (or better) in order to draw design layouts.
