Autosave Crashes Intellicad

#1
I am currently using the trial addition of IntelliCAD 6 SE in the hopes of purchasing this product for use in my company. So far I have been less than impressed with the stability of the program. I have been using it for a couple weeks and have had the program Crash several times daily. From what I can tell, autosave is what is crashing the program. I've turned the frequency of autosave up to 5 minutes because it doesn't always crash it but I now have a better chance that my work will have been saved within the last 10 minutes.

Please, if someone knows of a common problem that causes this, let me know. As it stands now, I would not suggest that my company buy this product.

This is a very serious issue.

I wish to replace AutoCAD as my primary drawing software, but ICAD has this reputation, and I too have observed it.

I have purchased and upgraded the software, but until this issue is resolved, I can't use it in production, and won't recommend it to others.

Regardless of how inexpensive a program is, a point arrives where it is not usable, and frequent crashes are more than just annoying, they are expensive.

I'm still having the problem. I have also found that it will crash when I save the file and the file is then gone and I have to revert to the last .bak or .SV$ file which happens to be older than my last save because my last save has been deleted.

I do enjoy using the program but due to the lack of stability, I will not recommend that my company invest in this product.

It would have been nice to have some kind of response from CMS. Hopefully this issue can be fixed in later additions.

I haven't had that problem (I'm currently using a different version), but most similar problems I have had in the past were caused by virus software. A lesser number were caused by some files originating from Autocad.

I have found one way that I can definately cause the program to crash.

I create a new file. I draw something and save the file. Then I open an existing file created in AutoCAD. I then copy some stuff from the autocad drawing and use paste special to paste them into my new file as a block. I then click save and IntelliCAD crashes and the new file is gone.

I share quite a few files with Autocad users - some always give me trouble, others are always OK.
Is paste special the right thing for that - Isn't it simply paste for cad entities? I thought special was for "objects".
