I looked at the help file and cannot find a way to change line weight for a given drawing perhaps I can create a new linetype that has the weight I need could you point me in the right direction?

Type at the command prompt: LWEIGHT

Or from the pull down menus find "Drawing setting" and select the "Display" tab.

Tried lweight at the command prompt, gor "unable to recognize command try again"

Works here. What version are you using? I don't remember when it was introduced but lineweight is a relativly new feature.

Lineweight by color. Set it in the print dialog. Won't show on screen as diferent lineweights but will print that way.
