The company that I work for wouldn't spend real money for a cad program, so we have a app named Delta Cad (DC), it seems to work ok no frills to be sure. It has a export and save as function for DXF,but I don't know which one 2000 ASCII, or 2000 Binary. I do the drawings either at work using DC or at home using DC or intellicad, I really prefer intellicad. How can I find which DXF format DC uses?

Open the file in notepad. If it's binary, it will say "Autocad binary dxf". If it doesn't, it's ASCII. Deltacad is a rather basic program but is actually quite good for the money (about $40.00 as I remember). If it suits your needs, great but seems strange that they wouldn't spring another $25.00 for Intellicad LT. Sounds like they are one of these places that doesn't realize the value of documenation. Looks like you'll have to show them. Do it right from the beginning. Set standards and stick with them. Also, set up a good filing system with an eye to the future. Several years from now, if you discover that your system is no longer working, it's a royal pain to change it. Do it right from the beginning.

You are good CW, I have been fighting this problem for nearly a year, the owner does not have an interest in anything computer related unless his vendors say "you will get this." I had an ally that is a software engineer, that was helping out is our sales department, but he has found a job in his field, now it is up to me, all by myself.
For what we do as an irrigation system design, sales and service company the delta cad will work quite nicely mainly it is so easy to use, even the boss can do it.
I opened the file in note pad, it listed what I am assuming is all functions I did to make the drawing. So based on what you posted is must be ASCII.
