Error - buffer overrun

#1
I have the following message when I try to opening 2 drawings previously created in ICAD version 4.0.27.1 "Error - buffer overrun. This file may be an AutoCAD R14 beta format file."

The drawings were created by cutting & pasting part of a drawing created in VisualFM (?), and saved as .dwg (which can be opened in ICAD), into a drawing originally created in ICAD. Is there anyway of opening this drawing as it has a lot additional work on it that would take a long time to re-create?

Many thanks.

All I can suggest is try inserting it into a new drawing (from scratch), or ask a friend to open & save it in Autocad or maybe Turbocad. I guess .bak & .$sv files are not an option in this case, you could try rebooting - I think that might have worked once for me.

Thank you John. Your option of opening it AutoCAD is not workable as I do not know anybody who uses it. The first option I would rather not visit as there was a lot of work involved in creating the drawing. Rebooting does not help either.

No, I meant insert it as a block (then explode it).
If you want, if it's not sensitive etc, you could email it & I would have a go opening in Turbocad which I have mainly for opening difficult .dwg and other file types such as .dgn. It does an acceptable job of translating each way. Up to about 3/4 Mb is OK, zipped. I'm just not sure what visualfm is.
