Unable to save files on EasyRun after recent upgrade.

#1
My Intellicad recently updated automatically to: 12.1.227.151293.PE.VC16.x64.CMS121

I'm quickly learning that EasyRun has a very real liability associated with it. Because it updates automatically, I cannot go to a different computer and continue working if something fundamental has broken. That appears to be the case here...

1. Opened a DWG file that I want to export to a CAM system as a DXF (no problems with this in the last release)
2. Clicked SAVE AS, selected 2018 DXF (ASCII) and accepted the same filename as the default to create
3. Got a message indicating the file already exists, and clicked 'Yes' to overwrite that
4. Got an error message stating that Intellicad could not save the BAK file (I looked, there was no file with that name in the directory... problem #1)
5. Clicked OK
6. Got a message stating that a file would be created with the "_SavedWithErrors" appended to the file. This cold not be found (never written)

I decided to take a different route and save to an entirely different filename so that I could avoid #3 above.

1. Clicked SAVE AS, selected 2018 DXF (ASCII) and provided a brand new file (verified it did not exist on the disk)
2. Got a 'File not found' error message dialog. Huh? Of *course* the file isn't there... I'm trying to SAVE AS to a new file! This used to work just fine!

I'm pretty frustrated... Is there a way to get around this? Right now I'm totally blocked unless I buy NanoCAD or some other product that might work better.

Argh! I think this is a Windows security update that went awry. Unfortunately, it coincided with an EasyRun update which made it look like that was the problem, but I'm beginning to think that is not the case. What clued me in was that today I tried the steps again. This time I briefly saw a 'blocked access' message pop up. Interestingly, this didn't show up on subsequent attempts which is probably what happened yesterday when I was so frustrated.

I will experiment with security settings. The part of this that does not make sense is that I was finally able to get around my problem yesterday by using a 'testtest' filename. This worked exactly once, but it did work. A Windows security feature should, in theory, be absolute. I should *never* be able to create a file in a directory if the hypervisor has decided that doing so constitutes a security risk. Strange.

The information shared is really interesting. Good experience with the updates.

When facing updates issues, it's recommended to clean up turbo.net preferences cache (Windows search for "turbo.net preferences") , uninstall CMS IntelliCAD (if previously installed) and start over by downloading CMS IntelliCAD PE EASY RUN from https://us.intellicadms.com
After a Windows update, it's definitely recommended to restart the system. Problem is that Windows system updates are sometimes "silent" updates not properly set, and - unfortunately - it's not uncommon to see users blame our software for that.

Hey mate, that’s rough with the EasyRun update messin’ up your workflow! I feel ya—those auto-updates can be a real pain when they break stuff like saving files. Sucks that your DXF export’s gone haywire since 12.1 dropped. I’ve had similar headaches with other tools after updates, so I get the frustration. Maybe try saving to a different folder or even a USB stick to dodge those weird BAK file errors? It could be some permissions thing tripping it up. Oh, and if you’re desperate, rolling back to an older version might be a sneaky workaround if you can snag it.
How critical is that CAM export for you—got a deadline breathing down your neck or what?
