Problems with Views in Model Space, Paper Space, and AEC Objects

#1
I am a long time AutoCAD user who just purchased IntelliCAD 13.0 PE. Most of my xrefs and AEC objects are working fine when I open up files I created in AutoCAD Architecture. But I don't understand how to properly manage views in paper or model space. It seems to work nothing like AutoCAD, and this is sucking up hours of my time, when I need to be actually working,

For example, some of my files in model space are stuck in a Reflected view, even though they previously had been in a Plan view. I don't know what made it change. This is the case for objects in the file itself, as well as files that are x-referenced in. In the Xref file, everything appears fine (in plan view). Also, in paper space, I have viewports that previously showed plan view, but now my AEC doors don't show up at all, because the view is somehow stuck as if it's a reflected ceiling plan. I've messed around a bunch with the View Manager, but I can't figure out how to fix this.

In the Display Styles tab of the Styles Manager, there are many different options for "Display Representations". These seem to match the view options that I'm used to in AutoCAD (that I use in my plan and RCP viewports). But I don't know how to select those views in IntelliCAD. My pre-existing AEC objects seem to be fine until I edit one of them, then everything goes to crap, and the default system layers "infect" my doors, windows, and walls. So there definitely is an AEC compatibility issue, despite grand promises from IntelliCAD.

Please help! I don't want to have to go back to AutoCAD, and also to have wasted my money on IntelliCAD.

IntelliCAD and AutoCAD handle views and AEC objects differently, so transitioning between them can be frustrating. Here are some key points to help you manage views and AEC object display in IntelliCAD 13.0 PE:

- Reset Views: Use `UCS` → `World`, then `PLAN` → `Current UCS`.
- Fix Paper Space: In Styles Manager, set the correct Display Representation for viewports.
- Prevent AEC Issues: Avoid editing AEC objects to prevent IntelliCAD from changing layers.
- Fix Xrefs: Try detaching/reloading Xrefs and check `VPLAYER` settings.
