I currently use AutoCAD with the Carlson Survey as an add-on but I'm looking to save some money and purchase the Carlson Survey with IntelliCAD. How much different is the IntelliCAD engine and will I still be able to use DWGs that engineers send for layout purposes?
I would say that about 20% of my work comes from engineers who either want topographic surveys or a building laid out, the remainder is boundary surveys. So being able to work with what the engineer sends and the engineer being able to work with what I send is important.
Re: Is Carlson Survey with IntelliCAD worth it?
#2IntelliCAD is compatible with DWG files, so you should be able to work with the layouts engdoodle jumpineers send you without issues. The primary difference is the underlying engine, but functionality for your needs should remain intact.
