Rediclous!

#1
I have never experienced such poor software!
I was in Artisan and exited back to Intellicad which immediately crashed.
I tried to reopen Intellicad and found that it now only opens the error report page nothing else!!!!
There is a terminate button on the error page but it's greyed out and non functional.
Having got the terminate clue, I tried to go to task manager but Intellicad is not displayed so no luck.
What good is software that does this to my head?
I'm asking for my money back.
SO ANGRY!

Hi Patrick
When something is deemed as being poor it means that it is not very good.
I don't understand the screen shot...what are you trying to say?
I have never experienced so many crashes.
I've now reinstalled the software and it seems stable using the lower open GL option.
And it appears in the task manager in case I have to terminate.
I know that my hardware is not at fault because several other CAD programs are working very well.
I still wonder why the crashes occur just out of the blue.
Can anyone from CMS actually help with some tangible and useful advice/solution?
OR...can I have a refund?
Norbert

I've weighed in on this a few times in the past but the bottom line and what people need to realize once and for all that in the world of budget software there is a trade off. You want Autocad performance and stability it will come at a high cost. They are paying a lot of money for the high end graphics libraries.

For the rest, there are a lot of options. They ALL come with a 30 DAY TRIAL. I tried a bunch of them and this is where I landed. Your results may vary but you cannot get angry with a developer because their software does not work the way you want without trying it first.

I'm no CMS employee nor am I a huge fan of their customer service. But I did my homework and in my opinion this is the best bang for the buck. You need more bang? Spend more bucks.

Hi Kam
Thanks for the reply.
I agree with much of what you say, the software is indeed good bang for buck value.
I have been a retired pensioner for some time and use Cad for solid modelling and 3D printing hobby.
It keeps my mind ancient busy and helps to while away the day. As such, I can't afford the alternatives.
I have ,however, been using Cad software since the early eighties (ACAD 2) so I'm used to glitches and instability.
Most of the high end CAD software also have problems.
Usually there is some sort of explanation and a known fix as well as a message or crash report.
Yes, support is sadly lacking. Indeed this forum seems to be it ..so....if anyone out there
can offer some clues or a solution, I'd be grateful.
CMS have not offered any help other than sending email to direct me here....pretty useless!
I suspect that they are salesmen.

Hi again

OMG! I tired to log in to the CMS site after I saw the block and .dwg download offer in the categories else where in this forum.
For some reason I cant beat their hurdles no matter what I try it wont let me log in or indeed register fresh using my other email address.
I tried random password generation which never fails!
For some reason the details which I submitted when I purchased the software also don't work.
Is the security regimen A: unnecessary and or B: well over the top ...or both?
I can log in here without trouble....Hmmmmm.
I would like to contribute some/many 3D solid model 'blocks' to such a download library but it's in the too hard basket.
Image
???
I gave up!
This software purchase has become a very interesting experience.

HERE is on Opera navigator ! But all navigators are the same. Let erase your cookies and try again.....

>>I have been a retired pensioner for some time
Me too.
>>IntelliCAD instable?
No but the renderer engine may be..... I use Blender + LuxRender when I must make realistic 3D renders.
>>OpenGL solution
Good practice is always on OpenGL certainly.

What do you want to publish on this forum ? DWG blocks ?
The best is to use Dropbox or MEGA or OneDrive or Google drive.....and make a message with your link in BONUS

Hi Patrick
Thanks for the reply.
I've been unwell so I haven't been 'on deck' so to speak.
I'm learning to cope with the particular quirks of this software.
Let's face it...all CAD software is problematic on occasions...we are all 'no doubt' used to
sudden interruptions.
In the mean time, I'll continue exploring workarounds and I'm actually beginning to enjoy
using Intellicad again after a long time with Bricscad which I can no longer afford.
I've included an image of the sort of solid modelling I amuse myself with.
I'll be back with more questions, I'm sure.
Thanks again

You are welcome Norbert, the forum live wery well now...
IntelliCAD is very close of BrisCAD but in 3D, I prefer Blender.
Your picture is interesting, you like speed cars? Where are living? In english?
EDIT: Ha Australia....you have the bodies upside down then! No it's me may be??? Univers havn't pole of'course.

Hi Patrick
The image is a 3D solid model made originally in Bricscad v14.
The actual car was in Aus at the time doing demos at local vintage and classic car
meetings courtesy of Porsche museum. Amazing! I got to sit in it for about 30 seconds.
My brain, like many others, just can't cope with Blender for some reason.
I also tried Luxorender and could not even find/launch a GUI or for that matter any interface.
Perhaps you could advise on what I'm obviously doing wrong.
May your data be safe!

Yes it's easy you must download the standalone version here :

You download and extract the zip on your harddisk C:/
Then go to this folder and click on luxcoreui.exe
And a terminal windows will appear and next the UI like this:

BUT you don't need the UI release to begin to use LuxRenderer. LuxRenderer is a Render Engine.
it load only cfg, bcf or lxs files !!! rsm file is format file of Luxrender to load calculations of render uniquely.
You NEED absolutely Blender to change the background, lights, materials, colors or shapes if you want to render your scene.

Download only the Blender addon and download too Blender 2.93 LTS here:
https://ftp.nluug.nl/pub/graphics/blend ... ender2.93/

Then run Blender 2.93 LTS and Open the Edit > Preferences -> Add-ons
and this button :
ScreenShot_20231006130444.jpeg
ScreenShot_20231006130444.jpeg (6.36 KiB) Viewed 4823 times
and look for the LuxCore Add-ons in zip.
Then click the select button of this addon and return on your 3D windows. The addon is loaded and you will find the Render Engine :
Properties > Render > Render Engine > LuxCore

BUT there are a lot of Luxrender exporters for other applications ( https://github.com/LuxRender):
Cheetah3D https://www.cheetah3d.com/ LuxCheetah https://www.cheetah3d.com/forum/index.php?threads/4374/
Maya LuxMaya https://github.com/LuxRender/LuxMaya
SketchUp SU2LUX to SketchUp v7<->v2017 https://sketchuptips.blogspot.com/2010/ ... ender.html
Need download Luxrender 32B v1.6 here : https://github.com/LuxCoreRender/LuxCor ... .Setup.exe

FreeCAD -- http://mourelask.weebly.com/luxmax.html
