Using AEC Roof Entity in 11.1 PE Plus to create Gable

#1
When I try to use the Roof Entity it does a good job making a hip roof, however when I try to convert one end to gable leaving the ridgeline and opposite end as hip it does not perform as expected. It does give a Gable on the one end; however, it changes the slope of the roof to converge to the point above the gable. It appears the 3 points along the ridge are all being selected and moved.

As a follow up, I cannot make a roof over a square structure that has 2 gable ends.

Any assistance on using the AEC Roof Entity to create gables is appreciated.

Would not accept the actual drawing, but to create initial drawing:
1. draw square (I used draw line 0,0; 0,36;36,0;0,-36;close
2. then used convert to wall and converted what I had to walls
3. select the roof and anchor a point at each corner of the walls I just drew
4. I then tried to convert an end to gable. I have not found a good set of instructions so just guessing here.
a) I selected the center point and dragged it towards the top wall.
b) I then reselected the roof and the draggable point nearest the end I want to be a gable give an option "Convert to Gable", using the down arrow I selected this and press enter
c) Intellicad crashes and I send the crash report

If there is a better way, please share the correct steps to get a gable roof. It does seem that in some cases I can get the gable, but it is not consistent.

Hi Tom3, sorry for the delay but I have problem with AEC entities on my french UI.

Here is the result with a lot of efforts :

You must make roof as you said but after that you must explode your bad roof and select each Polyface mesh and build your seff your pinion.
And after that re-joint all polyfaces together.

EDIT: Off'course you lose the AEC properties. AEC Entities are not very developped in IntelliCAD.

EDIT: To joint each polyfaces's meshes together you must group them in Modify > Objects's group > Quick group

I want to share my few knowledge about the 3D after you explode your Roof!
Explode 1x : One temporary block (you can transform in real block)
Explode 2x : Several polyface's meshes
You can move/scale/etc... these meshes but not Re-plode them (?)

If yous erase a polyface's mesh. You can create a new one like this:
Create a "3D polyline" with the 3D ribbon's menu (3D polyline is different than a polyline).
Them use the Region fonction in ribbon: Draw in 3D > 3D solid > Region
to transforme this 3D polyline in a region.
Them use the "Transform in 3D" function in Ribbon: Draw in 3D > Convert > Convert in 3D
So now your 3D polyline is transformed in a polyface'mesh like the others.

And now you can joint these polyface'meshes in a group OR in a block to manipulate them in your model.
It's a 3D shape now but not a 3D Solid !!!!.

About 3D
When you add/substract/Insect -> 3D Solids = your shape become several regions when you explode it but not polyface'meshes. You must use this function too.
It lacks a lot of useful 3D function in IntelliCAD compared to AutoCAD
