That was a excellent tip from Lee. Some people like their drawings full of hacthes, specially some architects. Other thing that slow down zooming and panning is text.

So, if you have a drawing with so much text, like architectural or structural details, you can use the qtext command, set it on or off. It turns text into a simple rectangle, and the regeneration runs a lot faster. If you need to know or edit a text, just use the ddedit command or the properties icon, and select the text, you'll see the content.

Remember that when you issue the qtext command, you have to regen in order to see it working.
