I finally got back to my cone experiment, it appears that 1:8 is the same as 1.25:10, and the 1.25 is the widest part of the cone, the cone is only 1.40" long, the angle came out to about 7.125 degreew., Thanks John

edit length

This is a tough one, I have an entity that I need to shorten 86%, using the modify>edit length, and it works on a simple line, but I can't shorten my entity which comprises several lines, it dawned on me that icad doesn't know length, from width, any ideas?

If I need to draw a cone that has a 1:8 ratio how do I figure out the angle?

I downloaded a symbol library from a supplier, I installed a new menu for the library, everything works up to inserting the selected item into the drawing, nothing shows up,at least as far as I know, what do I need to do to make the whole thing work, if references are needed let me know.

I had to add this detail, Icad only freezes when trying to work with the inserted drawing when the esnap is active, is there a fix for this?, I tried changing the drawing into a block, thinking the block would be seen as one entity, and wouldn't hang, I was wrong it still hangs.

What can I do to prevent Icad from "freezing" when I insert another drawing? I have had this problem before but gave up, but now its bugging me. while I try to use drawings made by other people.

I just opened a drawing when I use the mouse wheel to zoom it dosen't, when I push the center button to pan is dosen't. I reinstalled Icad a few weeks ago and the macro warning shows up when I open Icad it didn't used to. what is going on?

another annoyance

I have been making blocks from some drawings, for use in other drawings, when I insert the block the program defaults to size and position, dialog and when I position the part it gets distorted, thats the annoying part, I have to remove the check mark in the "position block when inserting"...

I have had this problem also my fix it to click the centermouse wheel/button and it goes away, not a big issue, I do this automatically without thinking about it. Try it.
