good question, I heard several months ago that the consortium was working on an upgrade to be released this summer. whether it will be "5", I don't know. Hope this keeps the question alive.

This happens to me often, but it's a matter of making sure all the polyline segments are "connected" and in the same plane. I find that if I explode it and slowly add sides or arc segments using PEDIT it will work. You can do "list" on it to see if it is open or closed.

yep, works for me as long as I follow a couple rules like 1. Make sure the path doesn't cause the extrusion to cut into itself. In other words, turn to sharp or overlap. and 2. extruded entities must be closed polylines like circles, polygons, rectangles or line segments converted to and joined toge...

edit/copy, select objects, change view, set ucs to "view", edit/paste special, choose itellicad block, unpick "position block when inserting", enter cordinates and rotation angle.

I'm not sure if you have ICAD 4 PE +, but if so you could just draw a profile of the shape you want with a continuous polyline, then use the "extrude" command to extrude it into a 3d solid.

The only time it doesn't work for me is when the path radius or angle is to tight, causing the solid to cut into itself. I presume you do have version 4PE+.

After Rendering, go to View/Rendering/Render Settings/Save Last Image. This will save it to a jpg. I guess you can put a jpg on a web page. I don't know much about that.

For ACIS solids, How about copy it over 4" along the Z axis and use the intersect command

Welcome to the club. It's a known bug, see my topic "editing extruded solids". We're all waiting for the promised patch.

I think you are correct thought-man. I'm using intellicad more often now at work, modeling without extruding. By using the box cylinder, and revolve commands I can do much of what I need. These solids can be edited without too much trouble. Except when they get switched around. It's weard, sometimes...

I was told notice of the patch would be posted on the forum. Don't know if it's just to fix the extruded solids bug or part of a more inclusive patch/upgrade.

Do this: draw circle, type extrude, select circle, give it height, copy it over a little (overlap). type subtract, pick one, enter, pick other, enter.
