You might want to play with Graphicsconfig, it could help with the disappearing cursor

You may need to create 2 separate dimension styles.
One for Horizintal numbers and one for Vertical numbers.
So you can control how they are displayed.

Alteratively, change system variable TRIMEXTENDMODE to 0 (zero) this will allow the trim & Extend to work as it used to (old school like me )

You could search for the '$sv' files, there may be a backup there you could use, just renale the '$SV' to 'DWG' and open the file.
