There is an option in settings to create ellipses either as true ellipses or polylines. If drawn as polylines you can do more with them, but if already drawn as true ellipses you can't make them change.

Maybe it's not politically correct here, but Turbocad can open dgn files - then save as dwg. I think Icad is a better program but Tcad can be useful if just to open/save in different formats.

If cmdecho is on, that can be a timewaster as it scrolls everything at the command line. I don't have much trouble with speed for though most of mine are fairly modest.

Why the plotting system? One of the great reliefs of ICAD for me was to get away from the crappy ADI system (does ACAD still use it?). I have never had a pain-free printer with windows but at least you don't have to hunt down ADI drivers & wonder if they are the problem.
